Bank rates may be out of date. Please check bank websites for current rates.

I heard at my local Chase (formerly known as WaMu) branch that they are running the President’s Day bonus again for 2010. They ran bank promotion on last year and kept their branches open on President’s day 2009 for that reason.

To get the bonus, all you have to do is open a new checking account and deposit $100, and Chase will match that with a $100 bonus.

To remove the minimum fees, you’ll have to use your debit card 5x a month on signature based purchases, or set up a direct deposit for at least once per month. There is no minimum balance for the account.

You can also open a business checking account with $100 and get $100 free as well if you do not yet have one. You can open a business account with just your name and SSN as a sole proprietor, however the business accounts tend to have higher min deposits and requirements for waiving the monthly fee. Also

$100 Chase Checking Bonus Is Back

October 28th, 2009 No comments

Chase has revived its $100 bonus for opening a checking account.

All you need to do is open a Chase checking account with as little as $100 in new money.

If you sign up for a basic “Chase Checking” account, all you have to do is establish one direct deposit, or make five debit card purchases, within 60 days.

The $100 bonus is posted to your account 10 days after the initial direct deposit or your fifth debit card purchase.

The bonus is available for all types of personal checking accounts (except Access, College and High School accounts) but the requirements may be a little different. Be sure to ask.

You can avoid a monthly service fee by continuing your direct deposit or making the required debit card purchases.

The only catch is that you have to keep your account open for six months or Chase will snatch the $100 from your account upon closing.

This offer is available nationwide through Dec. 31,
